I’ve had a kind of wide variety of jobs in the last five years or so…some were awful, some were ok, some were fine…but now that I do have a part-time job that I love, I laugh looking back at all the different things I’ve done. And I do mean very different…
Sometimes my mom asks me to do ridiculous things. Good intro right? But really, from going to a goat auction for fun, seeing Disney on Ice as a 20-year-old, driving three hours away to a weekend fiber show as she tries (semi-unsuccessful) to drive my dad’s stick shift, staying in questionable hotels, getting lost in the woods of Hocking Hills during a thunderstorm, to leaving the country together, we’ve had some interesting experiences. Usually, after she proposes odd things to me, regardless of the weird situations she has gotten me in before, I agree to do it. So here’s a story of something she roped me into doing: Continue reading “Blog Twelve ~ A Mystery Tour”
Have you ever had something to say, but not the time or enough content to start your own blog?
Be a guest blogger!
I am looking to start a new forum on my site titled, “Unique Perspectives”
I am only one person, from one background, with a specific set of life experiences and opinions. The goal of my blog is to write something that might mean something to at least one other person out there. By inviting others to write a piece, that reach can be wider and more diverse. This would be the objective of the Unique Perspectives forum. Whether you want to write anonymously or not, the forum would be a safe place to share anything. A struggle, a victory, a story, a thought, a dialogue…whatever is on your heart. This offer to be a guest blogger is open to absolutley anyone! Not only is writing therapeutic, you never know who really needs to read what you have to say. Message me with any questions!

Even with the stressors and deadlines of our day-to-day lives, we owe it to ourselves to enjoy the beautiful days in Ohio~rare as they are. Hopefully, these pictures will transport your mind to a serene place as well; where the skies are blue, the air is warm, and the green Earth is coming back to life!
The other day, while I was thinking about what to write, someone knocked on the door. Immediately my roommate and I looked at each other with panic because we never have company. Neither of us was expecting anyone, neither of us got a phone call or text saying someone was coming, and we don’t live in the safest neighborhood. Of course, both of us being dramatic and irrational started whisper fighting about who had to go get the door, all the while looking out all the windows trying to figure out what was going on and who could possibly need anything from us. After hiding and pretending we weren’t home for a few minutes, I realized I had to leave for work and was probably going to run into the stranger at our door. Finally, my roommate grabbed pepper spray and went to walk me to my car in case it was a murderer or something…long story short, it was the mailman and I did end up being late to work. The point I am getting at here is that I am over dramatic and it inconveniences my life. Continue reading “The Problem With Being Dramatic ~ Blog Eight”

Have you ever been told, “just live in the moment”? I’ve been told that a handful of times. Ok, great advice…but what does that mean? I’m alive, I’m here….what else? Does it mean to be flexible, be spontaneous? Carpe Diem..? Continue reading “Here and Now ~ Blog Five”
“He smiled understandingly-much more than understandingly. It was one of those rare smiles with a quality of eternal reassurance in it, that you may come across four or five times in life. It faced- or seemed to face-the whole eternal world for an instant, and then concentrated on you with an irresistible prejudice in your favor. It understood you just as far as you wanted to be understood, believed in you as you would like to believe in yourself, and assured you that it had precisely the impression of you that, at your best, you hope to convey.” F. Scott Fitzgerald
Daily Cardio: Running Late
I can’t count the times in high school that I walked into the office, an hour (or so) after school had started, and the secretary already had my unexcused tardy slip filled out. My logic: if I’m already late, why rush? It wasn’t like I could get a “super” tardy slip? Continue reading “Daily Cardio: Running Late ~ Blog Three”
